System Migrations

As your business grows, so too does your network. What was once suitable as a one server environment may not be enough today. As you become more advanced in your needs, you will likely find the need for separate servers that do different things. For example, one server may be your business database server that houses your client tracking system, or other key applications, another server may be your e-mail server, yet another may be your main file and print server, and the list goes on. Fortunately, virtualization has allowed us to build these servers without necessarily having separate server hardware for each one. Virtual servers allows you to partition resources on a single machine, to install multiple servers into one physical server. This improves hardware utilization, but whether the server is virtual or physical, the fact remain that someone still has to build the OS, configure the networking components, add applications etc.

Aside from new system builds, there is often also a need for system migrations - that is taking data from one system, and transferring it over to a new system. Sometimes this is done to upgrade hardware (faster server) while other times this is done to move to an entirely different platform (Novell to Microsoft etc.). CompuNet Consulting technicians can assist you with these daunting tasks, and help ensure the transition goes smoothly.
